I'm an adventure travel photographer from North Carolina who's spent most of my life on the road. Having traveled consistently for the last 18 years, my relentless curiosity has taken me to 45 states, more than 40 countries, but it's never really been about the numbers.

 

​What keeps me going is the second or third visits, the extra couple weeks, the long wait for light that may or may not show up. I'll sit with a place well past the point where a smarter person would have started the hike home, and I'm rarely sure I got it right.

​It's a strange way to live: restless, a little obsessed, and lonely in the way you get when you're always somewhere unfamiliar. I wouldn't trade it. The photographs are what I bring back. They're quiet, unhurried pictures of people, places and moments.
